Committee Chairpersons:
**Each committee may consist of more than one chairperson and committee members.
Art Show:
This chairperson will aid the Boyd E. Smith art teacher with the school-wide art show, as appropriate. This person will coordinate volunteers and help art teacher with the presentation and coordination of this event as needed.
Book Fair:
This chairperson arranges for a company (Scholastic) to provide books, schedules classroom visits, and reorders books as needed during the fair. The fair takes place 2-3 times per school year in the Boyd E. Smith Library. The chairperson collects the money and works with the Treasurer to pay the vendor.
Book Driver Appreciation:
This chairperson will coordinate the purchase and distribution of bus driver appreciation gifts as well as publicizing the event, expressing our gratitude to our bus drivers during Bus Driver Appreciation Week as designated by the district.
Communications:
This person is responsible for the design and distribution of our bi-weekly newsletter, currently through MailChimp. Eventually the newsletter will be sent through our PTO Website. This person will also collect event information from committee chairs and PTO announcements from the PTO Board for publishing in our newsletter and post on our FaceBook page.
Milford Central Committee Delegate:
The Delegate is expected to be the representative of the BES PTO at Milford Central Committee Meetings. These meetings take place every two months at the District Office. The Delegate also should plan to attend school board meetings. The Delegate conveys information received at these meetings during our monthly PTO meetings.
Special Events Coordinator:
This chairperson is responsible for scheduling, organizing and executing two or more family night activities during the school year. The event can be in-house, such as a holiday fest, or can be a family outing like our Bowling Night Out. This includes publicizing the event with our communications chair, organizing volunteers, and organizing any donation request signups. This person will coordinate with the Treasurer the budget allocated for your event.
